Jay Mulford

Jay’s journey to custom pool building is rooted in a lifelong passion for mechanics and hands-on craftsmanship. A Combat Army Veteran who served in OIF, Jay first honed his technical expertise as a diesel mechanic—a foundation that he later applied to building custom motorcycles. Having always had a natural ability for complex building and problem-solving, he eventually shifted his focus to the broader construction industry. He spent the next decade relentlessly pursuing mastery in the mechanical, construction, and engineering industries.

This fascination with structural design and construction ultimately led him to luxury pool building. After perfecting his trade in the NC Triangle, he brought his skills to the Greater Charlotte and Lake Norman area in 2021. Jay brings a rare combination of a profound, mechanical understanding of how things are built, and an absolute love for what he does. From the moment he steps into your backyard, he is already visualizing its full potential. To ensure his exact standards are met, Jay designs every pool himself and remains highly active in the physical construction and daily oversight of every job.

When he isn’t on a job site, Jay is renovating his family’s 1960s homestead—a passion project alongside his wife, Catherine. Together, they have three sons and spend their free time exploring the outdoors, hiking, biking, and building.
